Every year, Mediacorp will never fail to help NKF raise enough funds.

Every year we can see that the target they set are getting higher and higher.
And as years goes by, they also increase the number of shows they have.
It started off with one - Local artistes combined with Oversea artistes;
then it increase to two - Oversea artistes and Local artistes;
and now this year they gonna have THREE! - Oversea artistes, Local artistes and Fei Yu Qing & co.

Nevertheless, you will also notice that they will NOT end the show unless they hit their target.

Doing charity is obviously good.
However, with the amount of prizes they are giving out,
make me wonder, whether we all are calling for the prizes or what?!

Of course, almost 99% of the population who called will say,
"of course the reason im calling is for charity!!"
But deep down, everyone is still trying their luck to win some prizes isn't it?

At least those last few charity shows that Channel U hosted proved to us that even without prizes, Singaporeans are still willing to lend a helping hand.
So why is NKF still giving out such a huge amount of prizes?
Alot of people had argued that why not convert those prizes to funds for the NKF patients?
But those arguements always end up nowhere.

"Last year call, this year call, winning chances are doubled!!"
-this advertisment certainly make people think that Singaporeans called for the prizes..

And that day i overheard a few students talking about the confusion of the different donation lines.
1900-112-6868 is for ONE time donation.
1900-112-6888 is for EIGHT times donation.
these 2 numbers are way too smiliar and throughout the whole show, the hosts are encouraging people to dial the EIGHT times donation hotline.
Under constant reminding, people will certainly call the EIGHT times donation hotline and when their phone bills come, they will have the biggest shock in their lives~~

Singaporeans also expressed their views on Local artistes doing dangerous stunts for the NKF show.
Alot of us had said that why can't Local artistes do what Oversea artistes do? Like singing and dancing.
Think about it? If our Local artistes sing and dance, will you still watch them?
Bands like 5566 or Energy, they can just sing a simple song and their crazy fans will keep calling and calling.
Imagine Mark Lee (just stating an example, not pinpointing at anyone) singing, would you still support?
They need exciting stunts to attract our attention, because Local artistes isn't the same as the Oversea artistes.

BUT BUT BUT..
Singaporeans are still great.
Look at that amount of money that Singapore raised for the tusnami.
$84 million!
this is no joke manz.
and that DSA flagday..
almost every TKGS and CCHS students returned with an almost fulled donation tin.
no joke.

In conclusion, I can only say that Singaporeans are really putting their hearts and souls into donating money to help those less fortunate people around us.
But if only we put in around 50% of those efforts to care more about our own kins,
then there will not be so many abandoned elderly on the streets,
then there will not be so many cases of single mothers,
then there will be a drop in teenagers suicide/crime rate,
then there will be no more little kids weeping to themselves in the middle of the night,
then almost all married couples will have a very happy ending,
then this world will be a better place.
